From the day that Sir Francis Chichester’s famous yacht came out of the ground in Greenwich to the day she sailed under Sydney Harbour Bridge this project has been the brainchild of David Green. Inspired by Paul Gelder’s initial campaign to save the vessel David has raised the funds and managed the project from refit to the Global tour.
Events in the Pacific nearly spelt the demise of the project but undeterred we galvanized an International Rescue Mission which put the project back on track and into Sydney Harbour on time amidst the attentions of the world’s press and an armada of spectator craft.

HRH The Princess Royal Patron of the UKSA
As Patron of the UKSA I have had many occasions to visit the Academy over the last decade. I have witnessed the organisation's phenomenal growth and the increasing scope of its charitable work. I have watched the success of the fundraising effort for Gipsy Moth from the inception of the project and have been delighted to see the level of support from the industry and individual donors. I hope you will continue to support David Green in the ongoing important task of fundraising for the UKSA.
